Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Arizona
In partnership with Special Olympics Arizona, the Phoenix Police Department annually supports the Law Enforcement Torch Run. The Law Enforcement Torch Run is the largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle for Special Olympics. Approximately 40 representatives from the various bureaus and precincts throughout the Department garner participation and hold fundraising events. Typical fundraising events include Tip-a-Cop and bake sales. The purpose of this fundraising campaign is to increase awareness and generate funds for Special Olympics Arizona (SOAZ) athletes. All money raised during this fundraising campaign is designated to Special Olympics Arizona. The culminating event is the Law Enforcement Torch Run that involves runners and Special Olympic athletes throughout Arizona and the nation.
